Think of SearchLocator as an extension of your "Favorites" in
Microsoft's Internet Explorer or "Bookmarks" in Netscape. SearchLocator is
intended to be used as a homepage. Anywhere you navigate in SearchLocator's
web pages you will see a small house in the upper left hand corner, use this
to bring up SearchLocator's homepage. We even will make you your
own page of links!
After using SearchLocator as your homepage for only a few days
you will become familiar with the site's layout. You will find that you
frequently will find information more quickly than using a search engine
because the "weeding" of non relative sites has already been done.
Search Engines are extremely useful for many searches and we highly
recommend the sites we have on our homepage. We are not compensated for any
links we have on this site outside of the advertising banners on each page,
so we only place what we believe is the best of the best. When a better or
more relevant site comes along, the lesser site is moved off of the homepage
onto a SearchLocator secondary page.
SearchLocator is designed to be a fast way to find information.
Usually only one or two mouse clicks. We search the web to find sites that
are relevant and informative. Search Engines will deliver more sites than
this site, but those sites are not always what you need.
SearchLocator is optimized for Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0
or above. When you hold your mouse pointer over many of our links you will
learn more about that link.
SearchLocator's homepage always opens links in a new window to
preserve the convenience of having SearchLocator's main page available
without losing other work that you might be doing.
When you use the "More" buttons or section headers, (which lead
to the same web page with more links), you are brought to many more links of
the same general topic. These secondary pages automatically close when you
utilize one of the links or mouse click anywhere on the page. The purpose of
this is to get the page out of your way so as not to end up with an
unreasonable and distracting number of open web page windows. These pages
are intended to remain on top of other work until they are closed or a link
is accessed. If you switch to another program outside of your web browser
the page window may rarely end up under the homepage. "More" and section
header links will seem not to function. Just close the window, that is now
underneath your other work and the links will behave normally.
All "buttons" are written in JavaScript, as such, if you do not
have
JavaScript enabled you should use the
section headers instead to access the secondary pages or simply enable
JavaScript.
